2021年8月，德国的欧洲最大新闻出版商阿克塞尔·斯普林格集团宣布以10亿美元高价向网站创办人罗伯特·奥尔布里顿收购公司。交易于同年10月底达成。在新东家的带领下，员工规模大幅度增加，部分新闻内容设置了付费墙。
